Sarah Myer (They/Them) is an Eisner-nominated comic artist, writer, and colorist best known for their award winning graphic memoir "Monstrous: A Transracial Adoption Story" and their current run illustrating the interiors and covers for over 15 and counting issues of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Saturday Morning Adventures" monthly comic, exclusive cover illustrations for Dynamite and Disney's "Darkwing Duck" and "Justice Ducks" comics, and their webcomic "Cheer Up, Michael!" Previous work includes "Barrier Breaker: Helen Stephens" (Good Trouble Comics & NYC Department of Education), a contribution to the Ringo-nominated comic anthology "Votes for Women: The Battle for the 19th Amendment", color work on "TMNT vs Street Fighter", cover illustrations for "TMNT Usagi Yojimbo: WhereWhen," and more. Comic Artist, Writer, and Colorist Sarah Myer (They/Them) is an Eisner and L.A. Times Book Prize nominated author of the graphic memoir Monstrous: A Transracial Adoption Story (First Second Books), which is the 2024 ILA Young Adult NonFiction Winner, has received multiple starred reviews, a Junior Library Guild Gold Standard Selection, and was selected as a Kirkus Best Teen & YA Graphic Literature of 2023. The graphic memoir also appeared on several Best of 2023 lists, including the New York Public Library’s Top 10 Books for Teens, the School Library Journal Best Graphic Novel of 2023, The Beat’s 34 Best Comics of 2023, and the Boston Globe Best of 2023. Monstrous is a Booklist 2023 Editors' Choice Graphic Novel, Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books 2023 Blue Ribbon Book, and more. Sarah is currently the illustrator and cover artist of several comic issues of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Saturday Morning Adventures, and was previously the colorist of TMNT vs Street Fighter and TMNT: Saturday Morning Adventures comics, as well as a variant cover artist of TMNT Usagi Yojimbo: WhereWhen issues for IDW Publishing. In addition to Sarah’s published graphic novel and monthly comics work, they are the writer and illustrator of their independent webcomic Cheer Up, Michael! Their comic illustrations can be found in New York Public School classrooms within the pages of the Barrier Breakers: Helen Stephens comic (Good Trouble Comics in association with NY Department of Education). Sarah’s previous work includes Hello Kitty & Friends Coloring Book (VIZ Media), the Ringo Award Nominated Anthology Votes for Women: The Battle for the 19th Amendment (Little Red Bird Press) for which they wrote and illustrated the installment “Asian American Exclusion,” and the graphic novel Maker Comics: Create a Costume! (First Second Books). Sarah previously taught Foundation Studies courses at Savannah College of Art and Design for three years and has attended comic and anime conventions since 1999, exhibiting and selling their art at a variety of conventions since 2002. Currently, Sarah frequently travels to comic and anime conventions as a guest artist. An avid cosplayer, Sarah has constructed and worn over 50 costumes during their time attending conventions and enjoys cooking, weight lifting, and spending time with their cat Loki when they are not creating comics.
